ABOUT TRAVIS MYERS
I can honestly say that I have both east and west coast blood. My mother is from New York and my father was from the state of Oregon. Myself, I am from Seattle, Washington. Throughout high school I split most of my time between working as a fisherman in Alaska, helping out on my parents horse ranch and sports. I assumed sports would be my future after I received 6 varsity letters in athletics, 3 in football and another 3 in track & field. These achievements had gotten me a letter of interest from Central Washington University for football. For whatever reasons, I chose not to follow this path.
Life has an interesting way of presenting new outlets. I began acting and didn't want to shake it. It was the process of the craft that had me so intrigued. I enrolled in Seattle Central Community College for drama and began working with my teacher/mentor Tawnya Pettiford-Wates and her Stanislavski approach. While there, I was asked to audition for a professional play and won the role. I began a fascination with the history of acting from Stanislavsky to the group theater and spent much time watching classic films and reading books by the great teachers. After a few years working in the theatre, on commercials and in short films, not to mention earning my SAG membership, I made my way to Los Angeles.
I still continue to study anywhere from Meisner to comedy improv and have seen the fruition of my work in feature films, TV, commercials, short films and I’ve even managed to do some theatre along the way.
